Long a fan of Frank Thring, the super director for Private (Virgin Treasures. Cannes Fantasies, La Dolce Vita Hotel, Samba, Chateau de Passion, Sex for Free are my favorites) I was anxious to see what he looked like in front of the camera. Well, as he shows in the new “Mr. Beaver” series from Hustler, he’s as skilled a performer as he is a director. (Of course, he directs this too.) The character he’s created is Dick Beaver, a sly, witty, commercial traveler (salesman) whose territory is the world. While other men would be broken down, he is still with it.
